Matthew 19:26: “And looking at them Jesus said to them, ‘With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’”
I am so grateful to serve a God who thrives and finds joy in making what seems impossible, possible. Father God loves showing up at the perfect time in our lives to remind us that He is and always will be in control of the trajectory of our lives. We as daughters of God simply have to give Him access and permission to enter into the sometimes complicated areas of our lives.
Do you have a story or testimony of God simply showing up right on time? Maybe He showed up on time but the waiting was a bit hard?
I’m sure we all have a story or testimony of God showing up at the “midnight hour”! Yes, I sure do! God is infamous for showing up right when we need it. When He arrives, it is as if the darkness and gloom that overtook our hearts for that moment immediately dissipates and we are reminded again that we do not have to do life alone. We have a saviour, a friend, and an advocate that is always looking out for our good.
After arriving back home from our family vacation last year in California I realized that the first half of 2020 was basically over! I also recognized that God knew exactly what we needed prior to arriving back home, that our time away was purposefully crafted to help prepare my heart and soul for the journey ahead. I knew that I needed some time away for my love cup to be filled with my family and friends.
But, I did not know how desperately I was in need of that safe place. God did so much in the midst of my conversations with family — we laughed, laughed, and laughed some more. We ate till our bellies got full while simply enjoying each other’s company.
You see, sometimes we don’t know we are in need of help, hope, or revitalization. The ongoing responsibilities of our day to day can easily hide what needs to be done in our hearts. So, once I got home, unpacked and prepped for the week ahead, I felt an inner strength arise within me. I felt stronger, more confident and resilient knowing that I had taken time to rest.
To be honest, it was a bit hard to get back into the rhythm (lol!). But once I sat down, thanked God for what he had done, and gave myself a pep talk, I was ready to go!
My prayer for you is that the Lord would give you spiritual eyes to see what He is doing in the midst of your life and circumstances. You may be in a certain situation where you are unable to go on a trip or leave the comfort of your home. Maybe, your living situation is not ideal, or your marriage is in need of a miracle. It may be possible that you are believing God to answer your prayers regarding the salvation of your children, family and friends. Whatever you believe him for, the Lord knows that he has the answer and finds joy in saving, rescuing, and giving you the answer you need to move forward in your life.
A lot of the times the answer we need will not come in a traditional format; the answer comes in the most unlikely ways. It comes in the midnight hour, during the mundane and challenging moments. We have to make the decision and pray every day for the Lord to awaken our hearts and minds to what He is doing behind the scenes. May we have the faith to believe and trust him when He reveals that plan to us!
